I'm thinking the easiest way to achieve that would be to treat MR like an outboard rack and make it insertable. I'd like to get to the point where I can ALWAYS have 8 channels of MR no matter where I am and have it be EASY to hook up so if I'm mixing at a festival or we aren't the headlining band I'm not being THAT guy but I can still get what I want. That said, I can only use it when a venue has a console with a card like the Venice or X/M32 or when it's built into the Digico and Avid consoles I come across sometimes. I use the C4 (now C6) ALL the time to the point that I hate mixing without it and I have a few other plugs that I just really like the sound of. Multirack, or I guess Waves in general depending on the console, has become a pretty serious part of my workflow in the last year.
